Captain America is about to meet his end. With the world as he knows it in a state of peril, Steve Rogers has to face an army of one of his most frequent, dangerous villains - the Red Skull.

Marvel has released a series of one-shots titled The End focusing on how iconic Marvel heroes meet their demise. Venom, Deadpool, Miles Morales, and Captain Marvel all received bombastic final stories and it appears Captain America’s will be just as dramatic.

In previews for Captain America The End by Erik Larsen (Savage Dragon), Dono Sanchez-Almara (Morbius) and VC’s Joe Caramagna (Star Wars: Darth Vader), Steve Rogers fights to survive in a post-apocalyptic world that’s overrun by an army of Red Skulls. Earth has been devastated by climate change, the ocean’s rising, and the Earth has been hit with a series of natural events such as earthquakes nearly leveling Manhattan. If that wasn’t enough of a challenge, Captain is also facing off against hordes of his most infamous foe.

It’s not quite clear what’s caused the Red Skull mutation. Perhaps an experiment gone wrong? Maybe the cosmic cube had something to do with it? What is apparent is the Red Skull’s collective goal to kill Captain America. Red Skulls of all different gender, ages, and sizes attack Cap without even considering the potential damage they’re doing do themselves. As it’s put in the comic, “every man, woman, and child is trying to kill him,” even if that means lunging through a second-story window to do so.

No matter how much the odds are stacked against him in this post-apocalyptic nightmare, Captain America is not going to stop trying to take them down. Cap will fight the Red Skulls until his last breath - which is coming in this story, considering it’s ‘The End’ of his journey. Captain America will surely take down as many Red Skulls as he can, up until he can’t fight anymore.
